Youths arrested over break and enter

POLICE arrested two youths in connection with a break and enter in Lismore on Sunday morning, but a third offender known to police escaped.

It is alleged the youths attempted to break into a home in Dibbs St, Lismore, but were spotted by witnesses who notified police. The youths were found in the area by police a short time later. Two were taken to the station and charged, but the third escaped on foot.

The two 15-year olds were released on bail and are due to appear in Lismore Children's Court on April 30. The police expect to serve an order to attend court to the third youth in the next few days.

The charges against the youths include aggravated break and entry.

Between Friday and Sunday there were six break and enters reported in the Lismore area, which is unusually high, crime manager Detective Inspector Greg Moore said.
