Your Story: Gonski information night at Evans River

I wish to extend a personal invitation to attend an information evening on a matter vital for all Australians - How will our schools be funded in the future?

The Gonski review of education found that too may students were being left behind due to lack of resources.  The Gonski review said there needed to be a greater investment in schools and a fairer distribution of funding, based on the individual needs of students.

However, the full Gonski recommendations have not been honoured and implemented, which means that only one third of the Gonski funding will be delivered to our schools.  That ultimately means that our students are short changed by receiving only one third of the funds, and that all schools will not be resourced to the 'Minimum Resource Standard' by 2019 as recommended by the Gonski Review.

Please come along to an information evening to find out what's going on.
