Youngsters invited to come and try T20 cricket

CRICKET NSW is inviting Northern Rivers kids to come and try T20 cricket before competition begins later this month.

On October 15, a free 'come and try' event will give kids aged between eight and 12 the chance to test out T20, which is a short form of cricket.

The event will be held at Italo Australian Sport and Recreation Club, Barrow Lane, North Lismore from 5.30 to 7.30pm ahead of the start of competition on October 22.

Joining the competition proper will cost $99 for the season, which includes a Big Bash League-themed shirt, cap and bag, plus insurance.

Equipment is provided.

The entry-level competition aims to ease kids into cricket and keep them interested.

Cricket NSW's Dave Szumowski said the Lismore District Junior Cricket Association had showed great initiative and leadership in launching the program.
