Byron teens playing at Nimbin School of Arts after Blues win

EMERGING duo Louie and Patrick are among the artists set to take to the stage when the Nimbin School of Arts presents the latest Blue Moon Cabaret on Saturday night.

Byron Bay teenagers Louie Swain and Patrick Hetherington edged their way into the local music scene when they, along with friend Noah Hill combined as Craig 3 Members to win the 2014 Bluesfest Grommet Busking Competition.

Since then, Louie and Patrick, who describe their music as "timid songs with cheesy riffs", have continued to impress.

Although still at school, they perform every chance they get.

The Nimbin School of Arts has been producing the popular Blue Moon Cabaret series for more than 20 years.

The cabarets offer a diverse array of the performance arts including comedy, poetry, music, dance ensembles, acrobatics and circus.

As well as Louie and Patrick, the cabaret on Saturday will feature performances from Dan Hannaford Duo, comedian Akmal Saleh, Sarah Stando, Martin Preedy and Melia, plus the Baby Durgas, Tap Bitches, Gypsy Rose Soiree dancers, acrobatics from Tuntable Falls Circus and React Circus, and poet/MC David Hallett.

The Blue Moon Cabaret will be staged at the Nimbin School of Arts, Cullen St, Nimbin.

Doors open at 6.30pm for dinner catered by the Radical Fairies. The venue is fully licensed and no BYO is allowed.
