Young NAIDOC Parade

Youth Connections North Coast have a Young NAIDOC event for Aboriginal young people today!

We currently have 50 entrants aged 7 – 21 who are having hair and makeup done by Aboriginal hair and makeup students from TAFE and also doing a workshop with Kimberly Kaye the reigning Miss NAIDOC Brisbane on achieving their personal dreams and goals. This will take place from 12.30 to 4.30pm on Thursday at Youth Connections, Second Floor, Headspace Building, 2a Carrington St Lismore.

At 5pm at the Lismore Square the entrants will take to the catwalk where four young Aboriginal role models will host the event. It is not a competition but instead is a celebration of the gifts and talents of each young person parading which the MC'S will be announcing to the crowd.

The Mayor Jenny Dowell, Aunty Hazel Rhodes and Aunty Dorothy Gordon will open the event.
