HEY MUMMA: Keeping kids balanced with nutrition and exercise
BALANCING the nutritional and exercise needs of your children can be an all-consuming activity, especially when there are so many competing distractions.
Knowing what to put in their lunchboxes, how much 'treat' or junk food to allow them and what amount of exercise to get them involved in are all questions that go through our mind.
There may be no right or wrong answers but there are often plenty of questions.

My six kids are all fit and healthy. Kids understand a treat is just that, a treat, something to enjoy on the odd occasion, whether it's at a party or reward for good behaviour. It's only a problem when it's not a "treat" and used as a big part in every day diet. Then it's just normal food to the child and that's when you have obese problems.
Get kids off the iPads and send them up a tree. Obesity issue solved.
All food is good for you as long as you balance it with variation and exercise.
It seems to me they can print anything they want on the packaging. 99% fat free is another misleading label. As soon as it enters your mouth your body converts it into fat anyway.
I think the bigger issue is parents rewarding children with terrible food. There are other ways to spoil your children. Giving them poison isn't a treat.
