"She says she has a foul mouth and that's the way she speaks," prosecutor Sgt Barry Stevens told Gladstone Magistrates Court, when police asked her why she verbally abused them.

Sgt Stevens said officers were called to Geraldine St at 2.30am on December 21 where there was an argument outside a house in a dispute over money.

"She was swearing loudly at the top of her voice. She was calling the police f***ing c***s, f***ing maggots," he said.

He said police warned Henderson four times to stop being abusive. When she continued to swear calling 'f*** you c***", officers arrested her.

Defence lawyer Stacey O'Gorman said Henderson, 28, was intoxicated and been very honest in her statement to police, "acknowledging that when she speaks she uses a lot of swear words".

"Her language wasn't appropriate and she needs to curb her behaviour when in public," Ms O'Gorman said.

Henderson (pictured) pleaded guilty to committing a public nuisance; and in another incident, driving unlicensed on March 18 when SPER suspended.

In that offence she was driving her boyfriend's Ford Fairlane which police promptly impounded.

Ms O'Gorman said another person had been driving the car but following an argument Henderson drove.

"She didn't want to leave it beside the road. It is her boyfriend's car and she had to tell him. It's now impounded," Ms O'Gorman said.

"It's expensive. She owes $2000 (impoundment) fees."

The court heard Henderson was pregnant.

Magistrate Mark Morrow said Henderson had court history and already on Probation.

Acknowledging she had prior history for drug and street related offences, Mr Morrow told her that he was concerned about her "foul mouth" in public, and her drinking causing a public nuisance, especially now she was pregnant.

And while her lawyer submitted that Henderson's offending did not warrant jail, Mr Morrow said others might disagree,

"You need to change your attitude and behaviour in public," Mr Morrow told Henderson.

"Other people don't like people yelling obscenities."

He sentenced her to 18 months supervised Probation, subject to urine tests and medical assessment.
