10.30AM: A REPORTER in Yeppoon has confirmed a sinkhole, measuring about 3m by 2m, caused the water outage this morning. 

A witness at the scene said a woman drove into the sinkhole, on the corner of Ben St and Adelaide Park Rd, at about 5.30am. 

The witness, who lives across the road from the incident, said emergency services had to remove the car from the sinkhole. 

The woman is not believed to have been injured in the incident. 

Council workers remain on scene. 

10.25am: A READER has informed The Bulletin that their water has been returned.

Meanwhile, another reader, Shelley Braybrooke says she had no water in Ward St since about 3am.

8.15am: A NUMBER of residents in the Adelaide Park area have reported water issues this morning on Facebook.

Residents have contacted Livingstone Shire Council, according to comments on a public Facebook page, and council is working on the issue.

The Bulletin is seeking information from council about how many residences and businesses have been impacted and how long the council expects it will take to resolve the issue.

Reports indicate there is a burst water pipe near Yeppoon Health and Fitness.

One person posted that they had contacted council and it appeared that a severe trunk line is damaged and impacting central and northern suburbs of Yeppoon who will experience loss of water supply for several hours.
