Wright start to speedway season

LISMORE driver Steve Wright has had a successful start to the sprintcar racing season by securing an A main grid position in the feature event at Archerfield Speedway in Queensland at the weekend.

Wright, of the S&M Motorsport Crimsafe racing team, built on a solid debut two weeks earlier in his Triple X sprintcar.

At the first meeting, handling problems were experienced, however, with the help of his dedicated crew, many hours later a set-up was achieved to start the night for the second meet in Brisbane.

The new car was assembled by Wright and his crew, accepting there would be teething problems.

Although tentative at the beginning, Wright’s growing acceptance of the car began to tell as he started to match some of the more experienced and well established teams.

Even though Wright spends much of the racing season away from home he receives strong support from his co-sponsors in the city.

And he’s looking forward to his team’s appearance at Lismore Speedway in March.
