Work begins on sewer for North Lismore plateau development

DESPITE the Land and Environment Court repealing the North Lismore plateau development Lismore City Council are pushing ahead installing a sewer to service the area.

A Lismore City Council spokeswoman said work had begun on the one kilometre gravity sewer on Dunoon Road to service North Lismore Plateau.

"The gravity sewer will cost around $750,000 and is being built by O'Leary Drainage and Civil Pty Ltd," the spokeswoman said.

"The gravity sewer will be complete by Christmas and will help service 1500 houses.

"Other works to service North Lismore Plateau in the new year with include a water main, pump station upgrade and rising main."

Lismore City Council remains committed to the development of the North Lismore Plateau and expect a gateway determination soon.
