Wonderful Christmas present for local airports

A HUGE Christmas present has come to both Ballina-Byron Gateway and Lismore airports in the form of a funding grant.

The $2,207,360 for Ballina and $1.5m for Lismore are part of Restart NSW Regional Tourism Infrastructure that has been approved for airside works.

"Council is delighted to receive this funding from Restart NSW," Ballina-Byron Gateway Airport manager Neil Weatherson said.

"This will create future growth for the airport and is great news for Ballina Shire."
