Woman tried to stab man she was arguing with

A WOMAN has been charged following a violent incident in Casino overnight.

Police allege that at 7.15pm on Wednesday night a 19-year-old Casino woman armed herself with a 30cm knife and approached a man she had been in conflict with, senior constable David Henderson said.

They started arguing in the middle of Centre Street in the CBD, before the 19-year-old then tried to stab the man.

The victim, who did not suffer any injuries, disarmed the 19-year-old and handed the knife to police, snr cnst Henderson said.

The 19-year-old woman attended Casino Police Station a short time later where she was charged with assault.

She will appear in Casino Local Court in February.
