Woman serious after Pacific Highway crash north of Nambucca

MOTORISTS travelling on the Pacific Highway, 2km north of Nambucca Heads, are advised to allow additional travel time due to a single vehicle crash near Deep Creek.

Witnesses report the crash occurred just after 11am Saturday with the southbound car torpedoing off the road and getting tangled in a tree.

The single occupant is believed to be a 47-year-old female.

Paramedics treated the woman for abdominal injuries and her condition is described as serious.

The Westpac Rescue chopper was tasked to the scene.

While the Pacific Highway has now reopened to traffic, police report heavy congestion and extra time should be factored into any road trips.
