Woman heartbroken after lover pulls cruel prank

A WOMAN has been left in tears after flying abroad to be reunited with her holiday lover - to be told he had been playing a cruel "Pull a Pig" game.

Devastated Sophie Stevenson was stood up by Dutch man Jesse Mateman, who sent her the message: "You were pigged", The Sun reports.

He added two pig emojis to his text, plus a laughing face, as well as: "It was all a joke."

Ms Stevenson said she was devastated by the prank.

"Pulling a pig is where a guy tries to pull the fat, ugly girl. I felt sick," she said.

Ms Stevenson, 24, slept with Mr Mateman, 21, in what she called a "proper romance" after they met in Barcelona while enduring the emotional trauma of August's terror attack there.

Ms Stevenson, a bar supervisor from central England, then forked out $590 on a 650-kilometre trip to Amsterdam to be with him.

He played along on the phone but left her stranded and alone at the airport when she got there.

She heard from him via his abusive messages six hours later at a hotel.

"How could you be so cruel though!" Ms Stevenson replied to Mr Mateman's cruel text.

He promptly blocked her on social media.

"I was so upset I changed my flights and headed home the next morning," she said.

Mr Mateman failed to respond to The Sun's efforts to contact him.

The cruel "Pull A Pig" game involves a group of blokes going out and trying to hook up with the most unattractive girl.

The "winner" is the guy who attracts the "ugliest" girl.
