Woman charged over alleged $36 million in false invoices

FALSE work invoices totalling more than $36 million were made out by a woman working at a smash repair business in Sydney's south, police have alleged.

A 67-year-old woman was arrested on Wednesday following a 12-month investigation into a series of suspicious transactions at the Kirrawee business.

Police allege fraudulent invoices worth $36,889,704 were created for 10 victims.

Fraud and Cybercrime detectives charged the woman with 25 dishonesty offences.

She will front court on September 19.
