Woman arrested near Casino allegedly armed with knife

A WOMAN arrested near Casino by police yesterday was allegedly found hiding behind a tractor and armed with a knife.

Just before 1pm Casino police were called to a Greenridge property following reports a woman was seen acting suspiciously.

When they arrived officers they found a 24-year-old South Grafton woman crouching behind a tractor holding a knife.

When the woman was asked to drop the knife officers said she did.

The woman was searched and police allegedly found she was carrying cash, the drug ice and jewellery.

She was arrested and taken to Casino police station where she was charged with possessing prohibited drugs, supplying prohibited drugs, goods in custody, having custody of a knife in a public place, possessing house breaking implements and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear in court on January 6.
