Winter's bite still nipping at Coast with 2-degree morning

WINTER'S bite is still nipping at the heels of Sunshine Coast residents.

The temperature dropped to 5.8 at 6am Wednesday, nothing unusual for this time of year, but the apparent temperature was just 2 degrees at Maroochydore.

The Bureau of Meteorology states the temperature rose to 6.4 degrees at 6.30am, but again BOM's apparent temperature was just 3 degrees.

Things were a little warmer in Nambour with the mercury sitting at 8 degrees at 6.30am and an apparent temperature of 5.5 degrees.

But don't worry the chilly start to the day will soon turn into a stunning afternoon.

Weatherzone forecast tops of 20 degrees today, mostly sunny with west to south westerly winds.
