Wild youths keep police busy

AN eight-year-old and an 11-year-old were picked up by police after they were allegedly seen riding a stolen, unregistered 'pocket rocket' motorbike about 9pm last night.

The two youths, who had previously been reported as missing, dumped the motorbike, ran from the area and the two were found hiding in a garage in Gum Tree Drive, Goonellabah.

The motorbike was stolen from Pound Street, Lismore.

Meanwhile, police said two youths were arrested in Coraki after they abandoned a stolen 1988 Toyota Hiace Van they were travelling in near Box Ridge.

Police said several other youths ran from the vehicle which had been previously stolen from the Goonellabah area between 6.15pm and 8.30pm on Friday night.
