Coach loses bet, dons dress

A LOOSE LIPS bet on whether the Parramatta Eels would make the Rugby League semi-finals this season has landed Lismore's Dave Krause in skimpy evening wear.

The Marist Brothers first grade coach was so sure the Eels would be knocked out that he offered to wear a dress to work for a week if proved wrong.

And it seems the women at the Bolt Barn, where Mr Krause earns a quid, have been more than generous in supplying him with a frock each day.

“But he's a bit worried about the one with sequins,” said Bolt Barn owner Linda Waring.

All this tomfoolery is for a good cause, with money raised going to the Cancer Council, out of respect for Mr Krause's brother who has Hodgkin's lymphoma.

And if Mr Krause can raise $500 by tonight he has offered to wax his hairy legs - but not his chest.

A barbecue fundraiser for the Cancer Council will be held on Friday, 11am-2pm, at the Bolt Barn, Union Street.
