Westpac chopper crew on TV series Air Rescue

PARAMEDICS and crew of the Lismore based Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter will star the documentary TV series Air Rescue from next Thursday.

In its third series, Channel Seven's Air Rescue follows the high-stakes work of the rescue crews of The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service.

Every Thursday from 8pm Air Rescue tells the stories of the pilots, aircrews, doctors, paramedics and in this series, police, involved in dramatic incidents.

Next Thursday features the precarious rescue of seasoned walker Michael Lewis, who finds himself stranded on a 250 metre high mountain after falling six metres off a cliff when walking near Mt Cougal, in Queensland's Springbrook National Park.

Paramedic Roland Murcott said winching Mr Lewis into the helicopter was all part of a days work on the helicopter.

Watch the action as it happens through the eyes of of rescuers from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service as they assist fishermen in trouble on the rocks, injured farmers, flood victims, motorbike riders and holidaymakers caught in danger.
