Western Sydney become 2013 A-League minor premiers

WESTERN Sydney Wanderers are the new A-League minor premiers after smashing the Newcastle Jets 3-0 at Hunter Stadium on Good Friday.

The Wanderers' triumph makes them the first expansion club in Australian football history to win a trophy in their debut season.

A Mark Bridge double and a Rocky Visconte stunner capped off a remarkable league campaign for the A-League expansion club, topping the table in its first-ever season 57 points.

"I'm obviously happy, content. No real big feelings right now," an almost speechless coach Tony Popovic said.
