Welcome to Glamping

THIS week, the glamping phenomenon, combining camping with the luxurious comfort of a hotel, took on a new look and feel in Sydney with the arrival of the Welcome Rewards Ultimate Glamping Experience by Hotels.com.

The ultimate "glamp" site with an exceptional view was set up on the shores of Sydney Harbour.

Leaving nothing to the imagination and offering all the glitz of a five-star hotel, four lucky winners were treated to spa treatments, meals cooked by a personal chef as well as outstanding views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The spacious glamping tent, furnished by Sydney's Citygate Central Hotel, featured a spacious living area, separate sleeping quarters with two double beds, bathroom, TV, heating, outdoor deck and mini bar

Katherine Birch, Director of Marketing, Hotels.com Australia and New Zealand, said: "The glamping concept has been gaining momentum overseas and we're excited to offer this special experience in Australia.

"We earmarked the launch of the Welcome Rewards Ultimate Glamping Experience for Australia because we know Australians enjoy unique experiences and love sharing their travel stories, which is why we wanted to reward some lucky travellers with the opportunity to stay where no one else has," she said.

This exclusive one night glamping experience celebrates Hotels.com's Welcome Rewards loyalty program, whereby Hotels.com customers receive one free night for every ten nights stayed across an extensive network of over 65,000 properties around the world*
