Weetwood Fashions on the Field winners announced
4.30PM: Emma Clarke has gone one better than last year, taking out the Laser Clinics Australia Fashions on the Field at Weetwood today, after placing first runner-up in 2017.
Sporting an Alex Perry gown and complemented by a burgundy leather jacket and Allport Millinery hat, Ms Clarke caught the judges' attention with her delightful two-tone autumn look.
The Brisbane-based journalist said coming to Toowoomba had become "a bit of a tradition for my family" and thought she'd test her luck by entering the Fashions on the Field competition.
"I'm very shocked," she said.
"I'm very surprised, you never expect it.
"It's not about how much you spend, it's about how you put it together and I think that really showed with some of the other contestants today as well."
Karen Wade placed first runner-up, followed by Anna Lukyanova as second runner-up.
Gordon Cooper took out the men's fashion competition.
Former Bachelorette star Apollo Jackson, who was on hand to help judge the Fashions on the Field event, said it was "probably one of the hardest things I've had to judge in my entire life".
"All the women looked amazing, the men really brought it today, and there were some great winners and everyone who competed looked phenomenal."
When asked whether any bachelorettes had caught his eye over the course of the day, Mr Jackson remained coy.
"There's so many beautiful girls here, I mean have a look at the talent we had coming up here and the beautiful outfits. There's a lot of gorgeous women here in Toowoomba."
EARLIER: Crowds of people have streamed through the gates of Clifford Park for Weetwood 2018.
Punters, dressed to the nines and looking their best, are making the best of a sunny autumn day in Toowoomba for the annual race meet.
Bachelorette star Apollo Jackson looked to be enjoying himself and has already proved a hit with the ladies, taking time to pose for photos with fans.
He is currently helping judge the Laser Clinics Australia Fashions on the Field event, the winner of which will be announced about 3pm.
Racing is also underway, with the 1200m Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood Handicap to be run at 4.42pm.
