Weekend events on the Northern Rivers
Having started from humble and muddy beginnings in 1885, the Norco North Coast National is a highly anticiapted family affair that locals and visitors to the region look forward to; and it's one show that continues to grow with the times as the years continue.
With the usual sideshow alley and ring events, this year's Norco North Coast National has added thrills and spills thanks to the many entertainers on hand.
There's a weird and wonderful exhibition with the Sideshow wonderland featuring the world's smallest tap dancer and the Pain Proof Wonder with her ladder of swords. Your jaw will drop even further after visiting the Mutant Barnyard or the Monster Sideshow.
If odd bods don't float your boat, then check out the Southern Cross University Sustainability Living Expo where there's everything you need to know about living clean and green.
Wander through the displays where you'll find over 70 exhibitors showcasing their wares. These include everything from health and lifestyle to home improvements to the latest on four (or two) wheels.
If you're a whizz in the kitchen, there are workshops and a Tafe apprentice cook-off. Who knows – your next best meal might be hidden somewhere among these gems; or simply sit in one of the workshops or lectures on offer and find outhow you can reduce your carbon footprint on the environment.
