Weapons, drugs seized

POLICE have seized weapons and drugs after stopping a car at Tabulam.

Police stopped a 21-year-old Tabulam man on Plains Station Road and found a .22 calibre rifle wrapped in a blanket along with ammunition, four machetes, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.

The man has been charged with possessing an unregistered firearm and ammunition, drug offences possessing an offensive implement, using an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle and driving while disqualified.

The man was granted bail and ordered to appear at Casino Local Court on April 3.
