WE only had two submissions for Photo of the Day yesterday, but what incredible submissions they were.

The submissions came from Lisa Kennedy, who was making her first Photo of the Day offering this superbly-framed image of an old hut she spotted on the road from Woodenbong last month.

The other was a stunning image of a long tree trunk rising from the scrub overlooking the Broadwater Beach, submitted by Sally Smith.

The voters largely sided with Lisa's shot, with a few fractions under 70% backing it as their favourite, while a similar fraction over 30% decided they preferred Sally's shot.

Photo of the Day celebrates the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of its people.

As well as appearing here, it is published on Page 2 of the newspaper and appears as the cover image on our Facebook page.

To contribute to Photo of the Day, share an image to our Facebook page or vote in our weekday poll before noon.

You will find the poll on our website, http://www.northernstar.com.au, at the bottom of the Photo of the Day story.

In today's poll, we have five fantastic images to choose from and because we're choosing two photos, everyone gets two votes.
Have a look and choose your favourites. Voting closes at noon.
