Watch rising stars before the muster

THE Pre-Muster Day is more than just a celebration of good country music – it's a destination for discovering Gympie's home-grown talent.

Four stages in Mary Street this Saturday will become platforms for local musicians and entertainers to showcase their best performances.

The latest country talent to emerge on the scene, Duke Wilde Band, will deliver a top-class country rock set of originals and covers from 11.30am to 12.30pm on the City Centre Stage.

Don't miss out on the quality line-up of entertainment from 8.30am, with Zeta Burns, followed by Mungo Rollo Jazz and Uncle Bob's Jug Band.

Always a crowd favourite, country crooner Graeme Jensen is expected to draw a large crowd to the Park Gates' Stage, where he will introduce 16-year-old folk singer-songwriter Clare Quinn at 9am and Lee T-Bone Turner at 10am before taking the stage at 11am for a 45-minute set.

At the top of Mary Street on the Gympie Musicland Stage, students from the Country Music School of Excellence will put on a show to demonstrate why any one of these young rising stars could be the next big thing in the country music industry.

Young students Caitlyn Shadbolt, Alice Benfer, Olivia Nolan and Michele Blavius will take to the stage for solo performances followed by CMSOE band Aiming High and the Australian Institute of Country Music band The Bandicoots.

At Custom Leathercraft Stage, near the Post Office, AICM students will showcase what they have learned in the lead-up to next week's Muster performances.

Jess Fox, Jake Reid, Noella Dwyer, Jessemy Daly and Mahalia Daly will share the stage between 9.30am and 11.30am.

Entertainment for the kids includes a jumping castle and roving entertainers. With so much to see and do for the whole family, you would be mad to miss it.
