Warning for boaties at Evans Head

BOATIES travellling up the Evans River wanting to cross the bar are being warned of a sand bank on the south wall.

A warning went out on the Evans Head Notice Board Facebook page of a sand spit that has developed recently.

"Conditions are very dangerous," wrote contributor Brett Paddon.

"Please check the bar before crossing.

"Night crossings at low tied are seriously treacherous."

Marine Rescue Evans Head have posted photos of the sand bar that has formed.
