Warbird heritage flights set to ‘thrill and inspire’ at fly-in
BALLINA resident Mark Awad will be displaying his ex-RAAF Commonwealth CA-25 Winjeel at this weekend’s Great Eastern Fly-In at Evans Head.
Flying as part of an Australian warbird heritage formation, Mr Awad hopes the displays he and the other pilots put on will “thrill and inspire” visitors to the popular annual event.
Training together regularly in formation flight operations, this is an excellent opportunity for pilots to showcase their warbirds in a manner similar to how they were flown when in military service.
Mr Awad owns and operates Classic Aero Adventure Flights, offering warbird rides in his Winjeel out of the Ballina-Byron Airport.
The plane is a familiar sight in the skies over the Northern Rivers region, conducting low-level and aerobatic flights.
