Wallabies suffer 29-47 loss at the hands of the All Blacks
EWEN McKenzie's Wallabies reign began in inauspicious fashion as Australia stumbled to a 47-29 Bledisloe Cup loss to the All Blacks in Sydney on Saturday night.
Australia had looked to match New Zealand stride for stride in the Rugby Championship opener, but a Ben Smith hat-trick helped the visitors run away with the game in the second half.
A stunning Will Genia try just before half-time - running home a 70-metre solo counter-attack - gave Australia hope of victory, but poor decisions cost the Wallabies in the second stanza.
A disappointed Genia told Grandstand there are some positive signs for Australia to build on ahead of next week's repeat clash in Wellington.
But he warns serious work needs to be done on the Wallabies' collective decision making.
