Walkers rescued from cliff

TWO bushwalkers had to be rescued by the Westpac Life Saver Rescue helicopter after they were stuck on a cliff face of Mount Burrell.

A Stoney Chute man, 46, and a Nimbin man, 44, called emergency services on Thursday afternoon reporting they were stuck on the north-west cliff face and had run out of food and water.

They were winched on board the helicopter just after 5pm and taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
