Drew McCalister

What's your current drive?

Mitsubishi wagon, 2004 model.

What do you like and hate about your car?

I like that it goes…all the time, never had a problem with it, except that kangaroo, but that was more a jumping error on the kangaroo's part.

It ain't so pretty but its got grunt when I need it and I can fit all my stuff and then some in it, including babies.

What was your first car and what happened to it?

Honda Civic, enough said.

During your childhood, what car did your family have?

A yellow Ford station wagon. I still remember when we got it, it was a big deal in our household. We, like everyone else, weren't rich and I can only remember us buying a new car once and that was it.

Great car. It took us all over the place for years.

What is your dream car?

I'd love one day to have a 1960s Mustang fastback…one day.

What's your current drive?

A white, 2005 VZ Holden Commodore wagon.

What do you like and hate about your car?

It's great for my music gear, my surfboard and it's old enough that I don't stress too much about scratching its interior. The air-con works and the stereo pumps. I've put 160,000km on it in the past four years and it still drives like the day I got it. There's nothing I hate about it. It's a great car and gets me comfortably from A to B.

What was your first car and what happened to it?

My first car was a 1982 Corolla Wagon. I called it Abby as the numberplate was ABY 436. I drove it all over NSW doing gigs. An oil can held up the drivers seat, the body was dented up beyond belief, the passenger window didn't work and it had no air-con. After way too many services and with engine parts dying every six months I finally traded it for a Falcon wagon... I miss Abby.

During your childhood, what car did your family have?

My dad was a Volvo fanatic so I was one of those kids that sat in the back ducking below the window as we drove through town. It was a red, 240 sedan. Mind you, Volvo is making cool looking cars these days. Might buy me one, just for dad.

What is your dream car?

As a run about I'd love a black Chrysler 300 SRT-8 with the gangster grille on the front, very cool. And I've always wanted a big American style truck, be it Dodge, Ford or Chevy.
