HEMP Party to run candidates in next Federal election

THE Help End Marijuana Prohibition Party has been registered by the Australian Electoral Commission and will run candidates at the next Federal election, HEMP President Michael Balderstone said.

"We were thrilled to get the tick of approval and its all systems go for the next Federal election now," he said.

"Many thanks to our members who weren't afraid to confirm their membership when contacted, as that has caused problems in the past".

The HEMP Party has almost 5000 members on the books.

Cannabis has medicinal properties and needs to be available to people with illness, he said. America made medical cannabis legal in California in 1996.
