VIDEO: Time lapse of Ballina Marine Rescue Tower construction

CONSTRUCTION of the new Ballina Marine Rescue Tower that started in February is being captured on time-lapse video.

See what the construction crew of the Marine Rescue Tower accomplish in just a week by viewing the video footage here.

Each week the footage is uploaded to Ballina Shire Council's website, so the public can see the progress of the new Marine Rescue Tower in quick time.

"This is a great way to record the building of some great infrastructure in our Shire and to keep for future reference and posterity.," Projects and Contracts Coordinator, Chris Allison said.

"The footage captures the initial stages of the construction, including the installation of services, pouring of the slab, construction of concrete block walls, erection of scaffolding and the construction behind it."

The new $2.28 million tower is expected to be finished by October 2016 and Marine Rescue volunteers are looking forward to taking up residence in their new headquarters.
