VIDEO: Minyon Falls captured in all its flooded glory
WE see a lot of spectacular images of Minyon Falls shared through Photo of the Day, but Phil Selmes has taken things a step further with this incredible video of the falls in flood.
Phil is an amateur videographer who likes to make videos of the areas he visits on his holidays instead of the traditional pictures and says he took this video fairly recently of the falls in flood.
"It's my passion," he said in a message on our Facebook page.
Phil also provides a little trivia on the falls with the video itself:
"The Minyon Falls is a plunge waterfall on the Repentance Creek in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia.
"The waterfall descends more than 100 metres (330 ft) over the huge rhyolite cliffs which were once part of the Tweed Volcano (the Mt Warning caldera which makes up a substantial part of the Northern Rivers and the Gold Coast).
"The water flow eroded the underlying basalt away to create the waterfall."
