Venue hits the right note

THANKS to a venue change to the wonderful Woodlawn College, this year's Opera at the Channon will go ahead indoors.

Bad weather won't be hindering the atmosphere, with concert-goers staying high and dry inside the venue.

"The only thing going to stop this is an out-of-season cyclone or tornado," joked Paul Denmeade, a spokesman for the combined Rotary clubs that are presenting the performance.

If the sun does emerge, those looking forward to an outdoor picnic won't be let down at Woodlawn, with plenty of beautiful space on the school grounds.

Even indoors a fun area will be created, complete with synthetic lawn on the floor.

"An indoor picnic on a rug offers a whole new experience and, of course, those who've purchased luncheon tickets won't be disappointed as all will be seamlessly set up whatever the location."

The concert will start at 1.30pm as originally planned.

If you haven't purchased your ticket, there's still time to jump in and support this much-loved annual fundraiser.

"We're hoping to break all previous attendance records, but we need more people to get on board," said Mr Denmeade. "Forget the weather and support a truly worthy cause in the Westpac helicopter.

"Enjoying some fabulous entertainment and a great day which brings our community together is the icing on the cake."

Tickets are available from NORPA - 1300 066 772.

Concert tickets are $60 (some tickets available on the day). Luncheon and concert costs $145 (lunch bookings cut off today).
