IN a nice Valentines Day twist, lovers of books will get to indulge their romance with the written word at the new Byron Bay Library tomorrow, on February 14.

Byron Bay-based romance author Jennifer St George will offer tips on romance writing with her Love in the Library workshop, starting at 4pm on Valentines Day. The workshop will look at how to write romance novels and how to get an ebook published along with Ms St George's own ebooks The Convenient Bride and Seducing the Secret Heiress.

"Now is a fantastic time for budding Australian romance authors," Ms St George said."

Australian publishers including Penguin, Harlequin Mills & Boon, Random House and Pan Macmillan have all recently launched digital-first romance imprints and are all looking for new writing talent.

"With romance fiction generating over $1.35 billion in sales in 2011 in the US alone, romance writing is big business.

"There are many wonderful Australian romance writers making an excellent living out of writing and selling millions of books here and overseas."

Library assistant Bronwyn Miller said the workshop was the first of many.

Phone the Byron Bay library on 6685 8540 to book a spot at the Valentines Day workshop.
