Vale Lismore Swan Dean Webb

THE Lismore Swans Football Club is in mourning following the passing of one of its favourite sons, former player Dean Webb.

Mr Webb passed away peacefully this morning after a battle with cancer.

The Lismore Swans took to their Facebook page to announce the sad news.

“It's a sad day for the Lismore Swans family who have lost a one of a kind,” the club posted.

“No doubt his positive attitude, humorous outlook, kind soul, fantastic character, a close friend and club champion will be greatly missed.

“The club sends its heartfelt condolences to his partner Rachel, and to his family and wish them all strength.

“They have been so strong throughout all this.”

‘Webby’, as he was famously called, reached the ultimate heights in 2011 when he won a premiership and kicked the most goals for the Swans that year, and followed it up again in 2012.

“The phrase 'Webby's On' spurred the Swans as his sharp kicking technique was vital in helping the Swans lift the 2011 John Chadwick Shield,” the club posted.

The Lismore Swans invite everyone to meet at Oakes Oval tomorrow at 12 noon, to remember Webby together at the spot of his greatest triumph with the Swans.”

RIP DEAN WEBB
