Vale Aunty Patsy Bundjulahm Nagas

WELL known Kyogle woman and Aboriginal elder Patsy Bundjulahm Nagas passed away on Sunday.

The former Kyogle councillor was well known around the region for her strong advocacy on reconciliation, as a member of the Kyogle NAIDOC reconciliation group.

Aunty Patsy, who was on daily dialysis, fought a long running battle with kidney disease.

Not only did the Bundjalung elder battle kidney disease with her usual tenacity, but she campaigned for better and more culturally appropriate dialysis services for indigenous people on the Northern Rivers.

In September last year, Aunty Patsy drew up a "bucket list" of things she wanted to do before she died.

A helicopter ride was the first item ticked off on Aunty Patsy's "bucket list", followed by a trip to Stradbroke and then Hamilton Islands late last year.
