Urbenville home invasion

A FATHER and son from Urbenville have been granted conditional bail after they were arrested yesterday in relation to a violent home invasion on Tuesday night.

Police allege about 9.30pm a 60-year-old man and his 38-year-old son went to the home of a man they knew at Urbenville.

The men then entered the premises and assaulted the 44-year-old male resident.

Police said the 44-year-old victim was allegedly punched a number of times and hit with a wooden rake causing it to break.

During the alleged assault the victim's partner ran outside to a nearby neighbour who came to assist.

When man's partner ran outside the father and son left her home and had an argument with the neighbour at the front of the house before leaving and going to the local pub.

Police were called and attended the scene.

Yesterday Casino detectives arrested and charged the father and son.

The 60 year-old man was charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent to cause a serious indictable offence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 38 year-old was charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Both men were grated bail to appear at Casino Local Court on January 23.
