Summer's here with tourism campaign to go across Australia

A NEW $500,000 marketing campaign is expected to lure thousands of tourists to the Fraser Coast with special accommodation deals from just $50 a night.

The State Government, Fraser Coast Regional Council and Tourism Fraser Coast will jointly fund the promotion of the region.

The campaign, branded Where Summer Comes Alive, will showcase 20 travel packages with ads on television, radio, newspapers and travel website Wotif.com.

Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey said the campaign would display the best the region had to offer in the hope it would spark interest in a home-grown holiday.

"The campaign has been designed to showcase the region's attractions and to coincide with the opening of the new $4 million Fraser Coast Cultural Centre," Ms Stuckey said.

Member for Hervey Bay Ted Sorensen said the campaign would provide a significant boost to local tourism operators and businesses.
