Tweed man charged over cannabis
A man is due to appear in Murwillumbah Local Court next week after allegedly attempting to courier cannabis interstate.
Police from the Tweed Byron Local Area Command intercepted a package bound for North Queensland on Tuesday.
Police will allege it contained more than half a kilo of cannabis.
The 65-year-old was arrested after police executed a search on a Rolands Creek Road, Uki property yesterday afternoon.
It will be alleged police found 147 total cannabis plants with an estimated potential street value of about $560,000.
The man was conditionally bailed to appear at Murwillumbah Local Court on 21 July.
