Two suspicious fires at one house

POLICE are investigating a suspicious fire at a house in McLean's Ridges near Lismore.

About 8:35pm, Wednesday 20 February 2013, a man and woman were in the kitchen of their home on Camerons Road when the electricity went off.

The pair went to check the fuse box when they discovered a mattress on fire in one of the bedrooms.

They dragged the mattress outside and discovered a small fire had also been lit at the front of the house. Both fires were subsequently extinguished and emergency services contacted.

No one was injured during the fire.

The home was examined by specialist forensic officers and Fire and Rescue NSW officers and will be examined today by detectives from Lismore, who believe the fires were deliberately lit.

Police are calling on anyone who saw anything suspicious around Camerons Road 8:25pm on Wednesday night to come forward. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
