Two on the run after BMW dumped at G’Bah

POLICE are searching for two men who evaded officers and abandoned a BMW with false numberplates at Goonellabah this morning.

Lismore police Inspector Doug Conners said about 7.30 am officers attempted to pull over a white BMW on Rous Rd at Goonellabah

"The car took off and police didn't pursue but called for highway patrol to attend the area," he said.

"A short time later police sighted the car turning into Ankana Cres wherethe occupants dumped the car."

The men, who fled into bushland off Ankana Cres, are described as being of caucasian apppearance.

"One man was wearing dark clothing and the other man was wearing a white and orange striped shirt," Insp Conners said.

"Police have seized the car for forensic examination and enquiries are continuing regarding the vehicle itself."

Anyone with any information about the white BMW or the two men is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
