Two killed and fifteen injured in Cairo over soccer riot

AT LEAST two people have been killed and 15 injured in the Egyptian capital of Cairo as two rival cities clashed over court findings relating to a deadly soccer riot.

CNN reported the two were killed and five injured in skirmishes in downtown Cairo while another 10 were suffering from smoke inhalation after fire gutted a three-storey building that housed the Egyptian Football Association.

The disorder on Saturday followed a Cairo court confirming death sentences previously handed down to 21 defendants involved in soccer riots, which left 74 people dead and 1000 injured in February last year.
