Two injured in Bruxner Hwy crash

TWO people have been transported to hospital after a car crash on the Bruxner Highway at South Lismore this morning.

At 10:30am, police, NSW Fire and Rescue and NSW Ambulance were called to the highway, near the intersection with Three Chain Road, where a ute and a station wagon collided.

The driver of the station wagon, a 40-year-old woman, was trapped in her car for over half an hour until she was released by police rescue and fire fighters.

She was transported to Lismore Base Hospital with pelvic, abdominal and facial injuries.

The 21-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries and was also transported to Lismore Base Hospital.

It is unknown at this stage what the condition of the ute driver is.

The Ballina Crash Investigation Unit are on their way to the accident scene.
