Two dead, woman critical after fiery crash

CRASH investigators remain at the scene of an horrific crash that's left two people dead and a woman in a critical condition in the state's west.

A 59-year-old man was driving a truck north on the Gipps Way, about 30km south of Condobolin, at about 5.45pm last night when the vehicle collided with a sedan carrying three people.

Police said the truck caught fire, its driver managing to escape the wreckage before it was consumed by flames. He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

Two passengers in the sedan, a man and a woman, died at the scene while the vehicle's driver, a 21-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries.

She was flown to Westmead Hospital where she remained in a critical condition.

Crash Investigators are on scene; the road will remain closed for some time.
