Two arrested in Woodburn drug seizure

DETECTIVES have arrested two men after seizing cannabis from a property at Woodburn.

Police from Richmond Local Area Command's Drug Unit and Target Action Group executed a search warrant on a property on The Gap Road about 2.40pm yesterday (Friday 5 April 2013).

They seized 33 cannabis plants, more than 5kg of cannabis leaf, as well as cannabis resin and seeds.

Two men were arrested at the scene.

A 55-year-old man was subsequently charged at Lismore Police Station with a raft of offences, including cultivate prohibited plant; manufacture prohibited drug; supply prohibited drug; possess prohibited drug; and self administer prohibited drugs

He was conditionally bailed to appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday 6 May 2013.

The second man, 52, is expected to be issued a notice to appear in court at a future date charged with cultivate prohibited plant and possess prohibited drug.

Investigations are ongoing.
