Two arrested over alleged break and enters at Ballina and Alstonville

Two men have been charged and a large amount of property seized following investigations into break and enters in Ballina and Alstonville.

About 10am yesterday officers from Richmond Local Area Command attended a home on Clavan Street, Ballina, and arrested a 32-year-old man.

He was taken to Ballina Police Station where he was charged with six counts of break, enter and steal, break and enter with intent, destroy or damage property and possess or use prohibited weapon without permit.

He was refused bail and appeared at Lismore Local Court today where he was granted bail to reappear before the same court in February.

About 3pm yesterday, following his arrest, officers attended a premises on Donlon Road, Monaltrie, and executed a search warrant.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the location and was taken to Lismore Police Station.

During the search police allegedly seized a large amount of property at the residence, including power and gardening tools, a television and other items.

The man was charged with an outstanding warrant for revocation of parole.

Inquiries are continuing.
