Twenty years on and Jebediah is celebrating

THE Lorne Hotel in Lorne, Victoria, has a poster on one of its walls with the line-up for Falls festival 1997.

The poster includes headliners Iggy Pop, You Am I, Grinspoon, The Living End and The Cruel Sea, plus young West Australian band Jebediah, making their debut at Falls.

Two decades after starting their music career, Jebediah is touring the country to make the milestone.

Vocalist Kevin Mitchell explains the band's mood ahead of the tour.

"It's been good times in the Jebediah camp this year celebrating our 20th birthday all over the place and we've never been the types to stop when we're still having fun, so we've decided to play a few rock and roll shows over the summer months in desirable locales where we can work on our tans and hopefully show some folks a good time," he said.

  • Upstairs at the Ballina RSL Club, 240 River St, Ballina, tonight from 8.30pm. $35.
